Ryan Misero

Ryan grew up in Pennsylvania in the suburbs of Philadelphia.  As a child he wrestled, ran cross country, was an alter boy, and a pain to his older brothers.  He graduated Springfield Delco High School and went on to get a Bachelors of Architectural Engineering degree at Penn State University.  While at Penn State Ryan enlisted in the Army Reserves in January, 1996.  In 1997, Ryan deployed to Operation Joint Guard in Bosnia taking a year off from school.  Upon graduating from Penn State in May, 2001 Ryan took a job as an engineer with Gilbane Building Company and he remained in the reserves, but intended on separating from the military.  After 9/11 Ryan decided to stay in the military and deployed on the invasion of Iraq in January, 2003.  Upon returning from Iraq in April, 2004 Ryan joined 20th Special Forces Group in the Maryland National Guard.  Balancing a full time job, family, and 20th Group was busy and in 2007 Ryan decided to come onto active duty and joined 3rd Special Forces Group.  Ryan was immediately assigned to ODA 3116 A Co / 1st BN / 3rd SFG where he served with both Mike Duskin and Riley Stephens.  He remained on ODA 3116 until mid 2014 when he transferred up to an assignment in the Washington D.C. area.  He has now returned to Ft. Bragg and 3rd Special Forces Group.

Ryan is married, has four children, and recently completed his MBA at Saint Joseph's University.  Fun fact: Ryan has a son who served in 1st BN / 3rd Special Forces Group with him.
