Chad Lawson

Chad grew up in Price Hill, a suburb of Cincinnati, Ohio. He graduated from Elder High School in 1996 and went on to attend the University of Cincinnati. After graduating in 2001, Chad enlisted in the Army as a Cannon crew member and went to Basic Training at Ft. Sill in Lawton, Oklahoma. After two deployments to Iraq and a one year stay at Walter Reed Army Medical Hospital due to injuries sustained in combat, Chad went on to 3rd Special Forces Group. Upon arrival at 3rd SFG in 2008, he was assigned to ODA 3116 with Ryan Misero, Riley Stephens and Mike Duskin. After the deaths of Mike Duskin and Riley Stephens in 2012, Chad co-founded the ‘Beef and Beer for Mike Duskin and Riley Stephens’ which eventually became the Duskin and Stephens Foundation. Chad currently lives in Southern Pines, NC with his wife, Erin, and four children, Liam, Mae, Colton, and Issac. Chad remains on Active Duty having spent 11 of his 16 year military career in the Special Operations community.
